Welcome to Part 2
Here in this post I will be going over some of the events that were going down at RCX 2016. There was a lot of action at RCX 2016, and I did my best to get around to as much of the happenings as possible. With multiple memory cards and batteries, I managed to get in a good amount of media, so let’s take a ride through the events.
RC Drifting was in full effect on a scale drift track with plenty of features. It was a sight to see, and I caught a couple of nice shots of some good old side ways action. The drift scene was even more inspiration towards my wanting of a new drift build. I love the scale look and the broad range of tire/wheel combos and bodies that are offered.
Kyokuro Drift-Sports and Wickedwayz Drift Crew were at RCX 2016 with One Ten Drift Network.
Yokomo RC Model Cars was set up by the drift track. They had products from their line available for viewing as well. There was a drift competition the next day in which I did not make it to, but I bet it was awesome. I am now a fan a RC drifting and will be getting a little more familiar with its ways.
RCX FPV Drone Racing Championship
The action outside at the drone races was just too fast to even capture. The sounds of the drones while racing was something special and I would totally like to get into the sport on a casual level. There seems to be a high priced learning curve when it comes to race drones and a lot of skill to master. I managed to get a short clip of the race just to show an example of how it sounds and looks up close.
On-lookers gathered at the fence to witness the mayhem that occurred from time to time. There were a few racers that did not finish the race due to smacking into one of the posts throughout the track. Parts were flying…yes…but there were some that handled their rigs with pure skill. It was a sight to see indeed and very inspirational. Who knows, I might have a pair of goggles on and a custom build race drone soon. We shall see!
Great American Outdoor Race at RCX
Also outside was a well designed and set up track for some off-road action. Short-Course trucks and buggies battled for a win while I stood on the sideline and captured a few nice shots. I have yet to hit the track with my Pro2 SC but seeing the races had me really thinking about making it to my local track here in Atlanta, Georgia. Let’s take a look at some of the awesome action in which the Great Outdoor Race had to offer at RCX 2016.
The drivers were lined up and working to try and take home one of the many trophies from the races. It was a nice watch and very competitive indeed. Plenty of jumps and some good corners to test the skills of the drivers.
The track marshals were in full effect and on the job. The weather was nice and there was plenty of breeze to keep the warm sun feeling good. Even still, they were breaking a sweat keeping up with the roll-overs on the track.
There was also a nice crowd of spectators checking out the race action on the track. I actually had to wiggle my way to the fence for some of my photos.
The Street Tacos booth was excellent as well. I had to take a taste some of their lovely specialty tacos. Well worth the bucks too!
Rockstar Energy Drink was present at RCX 2016 and brought along some pretty wicked full sized off-road vehicles and a crawler track with Losi crawlers to match. Their setup was pretty nice and the fans seemed to enjoy the sights and sounds coming from Rockstar.
Time for some 1:1 off-road rides from Rockstar!
I love scale RC trucks and cars, but there is nothing like the real thing. Check out the hotness from Rockstar Energy Drink.
Spearhead Army Group
The Spearhead Army Group was showing off some very detailed scale military rigs at RCX 2016. It was a must that I got a few shots of the wonderful work displayed at their booth. Make sure to check out all the detail, and think about the skill that went into these builds.
Now if those shots don’t show you detail and skill…I don’t know what does! 🙂
